I am curious how this applies to a VR headset setup

I followed this video and improved my lap time IMMEDIATELY .... but my truck seem to fall off faster and I had little to no long run speed. I am sure most of that is just my experience and driving but any quick tips to help with long run speed?

Nah, the problem is your Intel cpu. I had similar issues for weeks after zero problems. Finally got tired of problem solving. Swapped out for a 7800x3d and problems have been gone since.

Paddles can be replaced with stronger ones... There are many mods availables for cammus c5 paddle shift. Bigger, stronger, you choose!

One thing I did on my system where I had constant micro stuttering, the higher the FPS shown in the counter the lower it actually felt like in game EG 180FPS felt like 30FPS, literally. I researched it and researched it and never came across anyone else that tried what I did. I discovered that when ever the RGB in my case was set to multicolour like rainbow it would cause me stuttering. I made everything static single colour or just off, and haven't had any micro stuttering for weeks now, the only time I had it happening again was when I did the Spa 24 hour race with the rain, but other than that, it's smoother than ever before. For reference I have iCue and Aura Sync controlling my RGB. My next PC for the rig will be RGB free if I can help it. Do encounter massive stutters once in a while though like anywhere between a freeze time of 1 to 5 seconds (fatal on track). Yet to figure that one out, will try some of these you've mentioned.

Great video ! I was trying to under volt my GPU with MSI afterburner but after doing that, OBS (GAME capture) is no longer working. I use OBS on the same machine for my sim racing. Does this happen to you too? After a reboot and not using msi afterburner OBS works perfect again with game capture.

using win10 - (I found you can add the power throttleing colunm, by right clicking the columns and adding it!) This could be huge - can't believe no one else ever found or mentioned this - great catch man... and Thanks for the video! It was my impression that undervolting your card or CPU will allow you to hit good clock speeds, without overheating BUT i didn't think clock speeds or high frame rates, on thier own would fix studdering issues.... Not saying it doesn't because there are a million and one reasons why studdering happens.... Could it just be INTEL and thier new architecture that is failing you?

THANK YOU! I’ve been battling this intermittent issue ever since I began iRacing and it’s almost never discussed on reddit or anywhere else. It stops just long enough for me to think I’ve solved it then returned. For me the video quits, but audio and ffb continues. I’ve ruined my races, and others countless times. Hopefully this will be the fix I need!

It was freaking RaceLabs for me and I am on a brand new PC build, 4090 i9 13th gen plenty of RAM, etc.

'A sprint car has a single titanium brake rotor mounted on the live axle. So they run wide open and they use the brake to set the car. It will be cherry red when they are at speed. On a stock car you shouldn't apply the brakes if you are still applying the throttle. All cars except a sprint car will have standard brake systems. That means there is a rotor and caliper on each wheel. Ok, If you apply the brakes while you are still applying the gas the chassis is now confused because the static weight if the car is now out of place and the chassis gets more weight put onto the chassis than usual so the chassis cannot rebound as fast and the weight will transfer back to the rear of the car slower. A chassis and how the weight of the car moves around is pretty straight forward and if you have just a pretty basic understanding of how to make a chassis that works for you If anyone would like to know what "POLAR MOMENT" is send me a message or just leave a comment and I will explain it. It is a part of every race car.

A winged sprint car should never be hung way out. You need to develop keeping the car as straight as possible. If you are hanging the ass end way out you are killing your speed and you will also tend to bog the car down so the engine is not making optimum power as the car exits the corner onto the straight away. If there is a cushion you just drive it straight into the cushion and you hardly have to turn the car at all. Don't get my wrong everything that Tommy is teaching you is right on the money. The longer the turn the straighter you can run the car. Also, you need to adjust the right rear spacer depending on the track. Look at it this way. If you take a standard white styro-foam coffee cup and you roll it across the floor it turns to the small end quickly and automatically. That is stagger. Now take a big vacuum sealed travel cup and roll it across the floor. It turns to the little end much slower because there is less stagger and the two ends are farther away from each other. So on a really tight bullring where the corners are super tight, you want the right rear right next to the chassis so the car will naturally turn quicker. So at like Knoxville where the corners seem to go on forever you want the right rear as far as possible from the chassis. The car will take longer to turn left. You also have to figure out how to have the stagger work with your right rear spacing. You can have the chassis where it seems to be hooked up and changing the stagger will cause the car to begin to fight itself instead of sitting down on the left rear and hauling ass through the corners. Disclaimer---> I only have raced the Dirt Track Sprint Car game probably 20 years ago but it worked then and I just applied what I learned working on a 410 winged sprint car. I actually was the guy to beat. But that's only because of working on a real 410 winged sprint car. I am sure that if you put what I posted in the back of your mind and you follow what Tommy says in his videos and just play around with the spacer on the right rear you will feel it immediately. You can tell where to put it because when you find the sweet spot for each track you will barely have to steer the car on the longer tracks and you won't have the car's ass end hanging way out with your steering almost turned to the lock point and that's just killing your kenetic energy. Yes kenetic........ it applies if you are on the throttle and your killin it! Think about a 410 winged sprint car running wide open, never breathing the throttle, just wide open with absolutely no fear just slamming the car into the turn and just haulin' ass, and they just pulled in, rolled out the car. Changed the car setup based on past notes or just by looking at the track and they push him off and he drops the hammer and is wide open and just throwing it in the corner........Its really pretty amazing how a sprint car works...... chassis and the torsion bars which are basically sway bars. can be very beneficial if you have the right bars in the car. However as the track changes the chassis actually needs tweaked but your in the middle of the race so you have to make an educated guess on how stiff or soft the chassis is going to have to be to run the leader down, before you roll out to run the race. Go watch the WoO sprint cars both online and real cars and watch the cars run through the corner. The guy that has won the Iracing WoO series is worth taking the time to watch him and then try to apply what you watched. This is going to be a pretty long row to hoe but it will benefit your race craft a ton. I apologize for the rambling on and on. I cannot believe how much I posted. This might just be the longest comment I have ever typed. Take it easy and if anyone wants to pick my brain feel free to touch base with me. I raced back in the beginning of online racing and it grew into Iracing. We were basically beta testers that paid to race. We had some incredible races back in the early years. I retired after 13 years and we had a group of guys that had run together for years. There was I think 62 of us in our private group. We would run 1/2 distance with full damage, pit stops, yellow flags. I think we had 4 yellow flags in a 20 league races. We all knew how everyone else drove and we just raced with respect and we would run 2 wide for 12-13 rows at the plate tracks lap after lap. Dale Jr raced league with us on Tuesday night and this kid that befriended Dale Jr. had raced with us for years and it just happened to be TJ Majors. Pretty wild huh?

Had an iRacing stuttering issue for two weeks after upgrading video drivers. Turns out while my triple monitors were set at the proper refresh rate of 165hz, my HDMI fourth monitor was not set to 144hz (it's preferred refresh rate). Rather it was at a default of 60hz which caused the issue. Setting the fourth monitor to 144hz fixed everything. Note to self - don't do a custom installation when upgrading video drivers. Choose the express installation option instead. I immediately created a backup image of the system to restore from in the event of a similar problem in the future.

As you learn you drive the car witht the throttle not the steering.

OK so to explain all those HIGH better than low is cause of your CPU. More you push on GPU, CPU have less to do. So basically if GPU is not struggling then CPU is Fd and if GPU is on Limit then CPU have a bit more breathing space. 1300k is good but not that good for this game (weird AF I know). Watching this so I can hopefully get my 7900X3D and 4080 to run this POS game at least at 120FPS on 1440p screen with decent visuals...

For someone who has budget as no.1 criteria, but still wants the best, would you recommend this over the C5 ? IOW is it twice as good to match the twice the cost ? Also I had a Podium DD1 and hated the magnetic shifters (way too loud and too hard to get off the magnets) so I think I would prefer the C5 shifters, especially when my road car only has tiny shifters that don't have a magnetic base and subsequent noisy click clack.

Yo, Ive recently got into dirt oval and found your channel. Been enjoying the midgets this week even so Im wildly off pace at Eldora (I assume its quite a technical track in these due to the size?). Being from the UK I've never really been exposed to dirt ovals (other than speedway), I was just wondering if your courses run the basics for a serious newb like myself to get more up to speed? I got to grip in the micros often running top 3 but I understand midgets and sprint cars to be a bit of a different beast. TIA Zander

Ever since the load bar went away, that’s when the jagged edges around the wall came back and temperatures were way lower for my gpu.

Ever since they took the load bars away on the graphics page my graphics aren’t as good and my temperatures are way lower but now nvidia has changed the overlay to where I can’t even see the temps.

What is that dash overlay you use with the white gauges

Here in south Carolina we don't use Hoosier dirt track tires we run highway car tires on the dirt tracks here

Is David Tucker wrong from iRacing ? This is a quote from a 2023 post "In the camera tool your not driving so you can set it however you want. However if you screen shotted it, then jumped into the car, you would see it reverted to however the FOV calculator is set. In fact as soon as you close the camera tool it reverts to the FOV calculator. The camera tool is really an internal tool that I cleaned up and exposed to everyone. It has some quirks and this is one of them."
